Excel 2013, 2016, 2019 and Microsoft® 365 Intermediate Training
Intermediate Microsoft Excel courses are for spreadsheet users who want to expand their skills in creating and checking formula, and to develop skills for managing multiple spreadsheets, for chart making and for working with substantial sets of data.
For the time-being on-site courses are unavailable under the rules applying during the pandemic. So in the meantime you might consider receiving mentoring.
A major objective of the training is to set you up to use spreadsheets in your work. With this in mind hands-on exercises are based wherever possible on worksheets like those you meet day-to-day in the office.
Questions are welcome and encouraged throughout the day. Often these lead to in-depth discussions of topics and techniques of particular relevnac.
On satisfactory completion of the course you are provided with a Certificate of Attendance.
If there are topics in the Basic Introduction course that you want included, let DMW know ahead of your Intermediate and we will make time out for a refresher.
Charts/Graphs Creating; formatting; customising.
Formatting Creating custom formats for numbers and dates; conditional formatting.
Functions Important Excel functions for incorporation in formulae, including IF, ROUND, SUMIF, COUNTIF and VLOOKUP.
Interpreting formulae Techniques for understanding complicated formulae—useful if you are using spreadsheets created by other people, particularly by your office Excel geek.
Range names Their significance; creation; incorporation in formulae.
Verifying input Techniques for checking content of cells; input validation.
Spreadsheet auditing Techniques for checking formulae.
Multiple spreadsheets Viewing; arranging; organising.
Linking spreadsheets Why link; linking worksheets; linking workbooks.
Workspaces Collections of workbooks for easy filing.
Data consolidation Combining results from more than one set of data.
Data validation Checking users' changes to data at the point of input.
Outlining Applying structure to rows and columns.
Sorting Sorting lists.
Filtering Showing items in lists that match chosen criteria.
Sub-totals Creating automatic sub-totals.
This course takes one day on-site, normally between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Starts and finishes can be changed to suit your diary.
One great advantage of receiving training at your offices is that you are not distracted by the concerns of people from other businesses, as you might be if you attend public courses.
Completion of DMW’s Basic Introduction course or sound practical experience of the skills covered by that course.
On completion of a training course, each attendee receives a Certificate of Attendance, which contains details of the topics covered during the training.
