Re-attaching Labels to Control Objects on an Access Form or Report

Question

Whilst working on the design of an Access database form I managed to delete the label attached to one of the text boxes. I know I can put a new label on the form, but it won't be attached to the text box. Is there a way of doing this?

This technique is applicable to Microsoft Access 97, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2010.

Yes there is; and it works for restoring labels to any control object on your form (or on a report), not just to a text box:

  • Create the new label that you want to attach
  • Select the label
  • Issue the Cut command
  • Select the control to which you want to attach the label
  • Issue the Paste command.
